Dwayne Morgan
Dwayne Morgan began his career in the spoken word in 1993. Affectionally called the Godfather of Canadian spoken word by his peers, Morgan is the author of 16 published and 10 audio collections of his work. Morgan is a 2023 Appointee to the Order of Ontario, the 2022 winner of the Toronto Arts Foundation Celebration of Cultural Life award, a 2016 finalist for the Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Arts and a 2013 inductee into the Scarborough Walk of Fame. To date Morgan has shared his work in 18 countries internationally.

Tanika Riley aka iNsight is an energetic Speaker, Host, Trainer, Event Curator, Artist & HIP HOP Culture Educator that has spent the last twenty years supporting educational institutions & organizations in Social Emotional Intelligence, Wellbeing, & Equity through Ancient Wisdom. Tanika ‘iNsight” Riley was honoured in 2021 as one of 100 Accomplished Black Women in Canada for her two decades of leadership work.
Neil Donaldson aka Logik
Neil Donaldson, also known as Logik, is a visionary leader, a father, digital media creator, multidisciplinary artist, and founder of Stolen From Africa, a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to arts education and cultural empowerment. A first-generation Canadian born to Jamaican parents who emigrated to Canada in the 1970's. Logik grew up immersed in the community of Little Jamaica, where he was introduced to music and film making as a tool for storytelling, self-expression, and social change.Driven by a mission to restore integrity to Black history, Logik transformed Stolen From Africa from a bold t-shirt statement into a movement that bridges hip-hop culture, education, and mentorship. Centre of Excellence
for Black Student Achievement
The Toronto District School Board's (TDSB) Centre of Excellence for Black Student Achievement is the first of its kind in K-12 public education in North America. The Centre of Excellence is dedicated to improving the experiences and outcomes for Black students and aims to be responsive to the voices of Black communities who continue to advocate for systemic change within educational institutions and for dismantling anti-Black racism
at the TDSB.
The Centre of Excellence for Black Student Achievement builds on community voices as well as past and present efforts through a direct, multi-faceted strategy for meaningful and sustained change. Anchored by nine (9) mandates, the Centre of Excellence focusses proactively on the academic success and experiences of belonging of Black students. It provides a more coordinated and well-resourced approach leading to systemic transformation. There continues to be enhanced support for impacted individuals and a forum to develop solutions that are authentic and relevant for Black students, families and staff.
